Worship & Celebrations

A typical chalice lighting

We light the flaming chalice symbol of our Unitarian Universalist faith. Cup of our community, flame of our hopes that together we may create a world that is both kinder and gentler.

A Chalice lighting written for the installation ceremony at a District Annual Meeting

We light this chalice in recognition of fine leadership, rocky leadership, dedicated leadership and faltering leadership. For the faithful and the weary we light this chalice in recognition of all who have gone before, all who are yet to come, and all who lead today through actions great and small.

Each of these sermons was written to be preached, rather than read. Imagine the sound of the voice and where it might linger, or pause rather than reading these as traditionally written texts.
